Job summary

National Student Clearinghouse is seeking a Senior Director, Controller to lead the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions. This remote-first role directs a team of 8-12 professionals and oversees all areas from close processes to tax compliance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with nonprofit standards.

The position partners with FP&A, Procurement, HR, Technology, Legal and program leadership to strengthen financial stewardship and operational effectiveness for NSC.

Qualifications

• Direct all accounting operations in accordance with U.S. GAAP and nonprofit standards.
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Oversee tax compliance for U.S. and Canadian regimes.
• Coordinate with executive leadership and external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Direct all accounting operations in accordance with U.S. GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.

• Ensure accurate preparation of internal and external financial statements and disclosures.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and general ledger activities.
• Maintain robust internal controls and support audit processes.
