Job description

Local University is currently seeking an experienced Controller to join their team! Reporting into the VP for Finance and Administration, you will oversee all functions of the Accounting team, including financial management, transaction processing, reporting and internal control and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of accounting, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, general ledger management, and monthly closing.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
• Ensure payroll is being processed accurately and on-time in accordance with compliance.
• Oversee accounting and financial systems.
• Prepare technical accounting memos on complex transactions to ensure proper treatment under GAAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Masters Preferred
• Previous experience working in education or higher education a plus, not required.
