Job summary

Southern Arkansas University is seeking an experienced Contract Controller to lead day-to-day accounting and finance operations for a growing organization. This hands-on leadership role will oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, general accounting, financial reporting, and month-end close activities while partnering closely with the CFO and executive leadership team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership or supervisory responsibility.
• Experience as Controller/Assistant Controller/Accounting Manager or similar leadership role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting best practices.
• Experience managing AP, AR, collections, GL, and month-end close processes.
• Proven ability to lead accounting teams while remaining hands-on with day-to-day operations.
• Strong ERP/accounting system experience and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to partner with CFOs, exec leadership, and stakeholders.
• Analytical, organized, and problem-solving with a continuous improvement mindset.
• Experience in construction, general contracting, manufacturing, or project-based environments preferred.
