Job summary

Breakdown Services seeks a Controller to lead our financial team and drive profitability. You will oversee accounting operations, reporting, and controls while partnering with leadership to identify efficiency opportunities.

This is a fully remote role with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate has 5+ years in accounting, CPA or related credentials preferred, and deep knowledge of QuickBooks Online and Excel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• CPA certification or additional accounting credentials are a plus.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online and modern accounting software.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, vendor payments and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Monitor cash flow, budgets, and expense tracking for decision-making.
• Coordinate with external CPA partners on reporting, compliance, and year-end processes.
• Develop and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and scalable processes.
• Assist with forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning initiatives.
