Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is hiring a Field Technician C to support FAA programs across the New Orleans metropolitan area. This role requires daily commuting to remote customer locations and performing installation, maintenance, and testing of networking and telecom equipment.

The candidate will troubleshoot, document field activity, and coordinate with NOCC/SAC/Helpdesk. A valid driver’s license and security clearances are required, with the ability to work independently, including after-hours

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associate's with 2 years related experience.
• Experience with fiber, Carrier Ethernet, multiplexers, DACS, routers/switches, network topology, and SONET/ATM.
• Experience with cable connectors (RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449, BNC, 50-pin Amphenol).
• Experience with power testing (AC/DC), DC power supplies, UPS, grounding.
• Experience with network equipment login and circuit testing using test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for FAA programs supported by L3Harris.
• Install, repair, configure, test and perform preventive maintenance on telecom equipment at customer sites.
• Travel and work on-call to various customer locations within the assigned area.
• Read and follow equipment drawings and task orders; document field activities.
• Coordinate with NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk to resolve field issues.
• Maintain tools, equipment, inventory, and vehicle; ensure readiness for tasks.
