Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Field Technician C to support FAA programs across remote sites within the New Orleans metro area. The role involves installation, maintenance, and testing of networking and telecom equipment at customer locations, with daily commuting to sites.

You will operate independently, read drawings and task orders, and coordinate with NOCC and Helpdesk. A high school diploma and relevant experience are required, with security clearances potential.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Experience with fiber, Carrier Ethernet, Multiplexes, DACS, Routers/Switches, Network topology, Frame Relay, Fractional T-1, SONET Network Technology, ATM, Private Line, Voice, and Data applications.
• Experience with cable connectors and replacements including RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-25, V.35, RS-449, BNC and 50 pin Amphenol.
• Experience power testing (AC and DC). Familiar with 24VDC & 48 VDC power supplies, backup power supplies and site grounding.
• Experience with network equipment login and circuit testing using various test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for each program/system (FAA-related).
• Install, repair, configure, test and perform preventative maintenance on equipment at customer locations.
• Read and follow equipment drawings and task orders.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, and inventory.
• Work with NOCC, SAC, and Helpdesk to resolve field issues.
• Be proactive and prepared for tasks prior to dispatch and able to work on-call as needed.
