Job summary

KLA seeks a Customer Support Engineer in Utica, NY to troubleshoot and repair highly complex capital equipment at customer sites, update service records, and coordinate with installation teams to minimize downtime. Major responsibilities include field service reporting, mentorship of peers, and performing work predominantly at customer sites or cleanroom environments.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor’s Level Degree or work experience of 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, analyze, diagnose, and solve technical equipment problems via telephone, remote access or in person at a customer location.
• Repair of system level issues are based on CSEs technical knowledge, education, and training; use standard procedures and remote support to resolve.
• Ensure equipment enhances customer production and coordinate actions to minimize downtime.
• CSEs prepare field service reports and assist regional admin in quotes for repairs.
• Cross train and mentor other field service engineers; aid installation teams on startup/relocation.
• Work independently; spend at least 50% of time at customer site and/or cleanroom environment.
• Ability to use DVMs, oscilloscopes, flow meters and various other test equipment.
• Complete ongoing training to acquire knowledge; Certification Level 3 within defined time.
