Job summary

Siemens is seeking a CS Application Engineer for the Smart Infrastructure – Electrification and Automation unit. The role can be worked remotely and reports to our HQ in Wendell, NC.

You will collaborate with BDMs to craft technical and commercial field service proposals tailored to hyperscale customers. Responsibilities include reviewing customer specs, coordinating with regional/product teams, preparing proposal documents, cost calculations, and supporting negotiations.

Qualifications

• 2+ years engineering/project management/field service experience in transmission and/or distribution products.
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiating, writing and presentation skills.
• A history of measurable goal-driven success.
• Experience working in a multicultural team environment.

Responsibilities

• Create technical and commercial field service proposals with a focus on hyperscale program customers.
• Review and mark‑up of customer’s technical specifications.
• Collaborate and communicate with Siemens Regional and Product Business Development, other sales channels, and other Application Engineers on proposals, projects and opportunities.
• Coordinate activities during the preparation of proposal documents describing technical, financial and legal aspects of the offer.
• Cost calculation for service scope of supply.
• Participation of bid preparation, scope, schedule, budget and division of responsibilities between team members.
• Preparation of all proposal documents including official LoA (Limit of Authority) documents.
• Support sales managers during negotiations and clarifications.
• Keep track of all opportunities via Siemens CRM tools.
• CRM and LOA processes are key requirements and metrics for accurate pipeline management and bid approval process respectively.
• Ensure that all relevant project information, documentation and communication are handed over to project execution organization after contract award.
• Handover to project organization according to PM@Siemens guideline.
• Participate in improvement of sales tools, processes and procedures to establish “best in class” bidding processes
