Job summary

Labman is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Support Team and deliver hands-on service across the United States. You’ll install, calibrate and maintain Labman automation systems, diagnose faults, and train customers to keep equipment running safely and efficiently.

This remote role requires travel throughout the US, occasional visits to Labman HQ in the UK for training and events, and strong collaboration with UK engineering teams to resolve complex issues and improve system

Qualifications

• PhD, MSc or Bachelor's in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• Practical experience through research, lab equipment, internships or similar roles is valued.
• Hands-on with complex equipment and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain and repair Labman automation systems.
• Carry out preventive maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
• Provide remote and onsite technical support.
• Diagnose faults across mechanical, electrical and electromechanical domains.
• Support FAT, SAT and system validation activities.
• Deliver customer training after installation and service visits.
• Investigate technical issues and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Labman UK teams to resolve complex problems.
• Maintain service records and provide feedback to improve reliability.
• Build professional relationships with customers.
