Job summary
Opentrons Labworks, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to deliver on-site and remote service for our liquid-handling robotics platform.
You will perform installation, preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs, travel extensively to customer sites, and ensure the highest levels of instrument uptime. Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or related field is required.
- 2–4 years in a customer-facing technical role in life sciences or lab automation.
- Experience with liquid-handling automation or Opentrons robots preferred.
- Experience with GitHub and/or version control tools preferred.
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools preferred.
Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to perform service on Opentrons robotic platforms (installation, PM, calibration, repairs).
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and software issues on-site.
- Document service activities clearly in applicable systems.
- Troubleshoot remotely when possible; escalate as needed.
- Schedule and manage installations, maintenance, repairs, and follow-up service.
