Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, service, and train customers on chromatography and mass spectrometry instruments. The role emphasizes achieving SLAs, delivering high customer satisfaction, and contributing to technical knowledge sharing.

The position is remote within Maryland/DC, with up to 75% travel; a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in analytical science or engineering is required. Relocation is not provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in analytical chemistry, engineering, or physics; 2+ years hands-on experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing LC/MS instruments.
• Advanced degree with relevant experience acceptable.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, repair, and train on Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry instruments.
• Meet customer SLA and internal KPI objectives.
• Ensure customer satisfaction with services provided.
• Share knowledge and contribute to knowledge base; train colleagues.
• Document field service activities and reports in required system.
