Job summary

JBT Marel is seeking a Field Service Engineer I to install, test, and service autonomous vehicles and related equipment at customer sites. The role requires 60-75% travel (domestic and international) and residence near Detroit, MI or Chalfont, PA or nearby. Strong software and engineering drawing interpretation skills are required.

You will modify equipment, troubleshoot issues, and train customers while collaborating with the engineering team to deliver robust, reliable systems.

Qualifications

• BS or BSET in engineering preferred but not required.
• 2+ years of full-time engineering experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Prior software experience in C, C++, MATLAB, Python, Visual Basic.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365.
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
• Reside near Detroit, MI or Chalfont, PA or nearby.

Responsibilities

• Install autonomous vehicles and peripheral equipment (chargers, I/O panels, operator interfaces, etc.).
• Perform system testing, debugging, and validation for optimal performance.
• Travel 60-75% domestically and internationally to customer sites.
• Modify equipment and software as needed.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical and software issues.
• Make software and hardware adjustments as required.
• Monitor system performance metrics and report findings.
• Provide customer training and interface with customers.
• Collaborate with other engineers on projects.
