Job summary

ABB is seeking a highly experienced field service engineer to lead startup, commissioning, and post-start-up technical services across the data center market in Electrification Services in the United States. The role requires extensive nationwide travel and guarantees comprehensive travel accommodations and per diem.

Your responsibilities include leading onsite customer engagement, delivering service tasks, identifying improvements, and mentoring teams while ensuring safety and quality standards

Qualifications

• Electrical design experience across power equipment and systems.
• Deep knowledge of NEC, safety codes and QA requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical audiences.
• Analytical mindset with ability to improve processes.
• Able to collaborate with maintenance, engineering and management teams.
• Past leadership or project oversight in customer-facing roles.
• Proficient with MS Office and project/issuetracking tools like BIM, Compass, CxAlloy and Procore.
• Experience with Emerson RX3i/Proficy, ABB tools and relay testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite customer engagement as ABB's primary representative.
• Execute service work with urgency per customer orders and quality standards.
• Identify system and process improvements to enhance performance.
• Communicate service opportunities to internal teams.
• Coordinate site preparation and subcontractor activities.
• Perform advanced field service tasks including troubleshooting and diagnosis.
• Ensure materials and equipment readiness for service tasks.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in processes and delivery.
• Complete technical documentation and reports for assignments.
• Provide technical consulting and mentorship to colleagues and customers.
• Work within Power Delivery, Electrification and Control Systems domains.
• Uphold safety culture and PPE compliance.
