Job summary

ABB in the United States seeks a Field Service Engineer to lead start-up, commissioning, and post-start-up services for data centers in Electrification Services. The work model is remote in the US with extensive nationwide travel to customer sites.

You will engage with customers, perform advanced field service tasks, prepare material lists, and document test records while upholding ABB safety standards. Strong electrical expertise is required.

Qualifications

• Progressive electrical engineering experience and hands-on repair work.
• Strong written and spoken communication for technical audiences.
• Ability to lead and influence customers and peers.
• Knowledge of NEC, safety codes, QA requirements.
• Experience collaborating across maintenance, engineering and management.
• Comfort with project oversight and field-based problem solving.
• Proficiency with BIM/engineering software tools.
• Willingness to travel nationwide and work at customer sites.

Responsibilities

• Lead onsite customer engagement and ensure satisfaction.
• Plan and perform service tasks per orders and standards.
• Identify system improvements and communicate opportunities.
• Coordinate site prep and subcontractor activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve advanced field issues.
• Ensure material readiness and tool availability.
• Document tests and customer-facing records accurately.
• Provide technical mentoring and coaching to colleagues.
