Job summary

NV5 is seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead and support a diverse range of building and infrastructure projects from our Arlington, Virginia office. The role requires deep hands-on experience with electrical systems commissioning, construction oversight, and strong communication with owners, contractors, and teams.

Expect up to 50% travel, involvement across commercial, institutional, industrial and government sectors, and the ability to mentor junior staff while delivering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 8 years in electrical systems commissioning and energy services.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Strong troubleshooting and project leadership skills.
• Knowledge of codes and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning for electrical systems across multiple project types.
• Oversee functional performance testing and site observations.
• Manage electrical engineering and energy consulting services for clients.
• Serve as technical authority and project manager on concurrent projects.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Support business development through proposals and strategic planning.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
• Travel up to 50% for project execution and collaboration.
