Job summary

The Auto Club Group is seeking a Field Auto Appraiser to inspect, evaluate, and determine repair or total loss values for complex vehicle damage claims in the Livonia–Ann Arbor corridor. The role requires expert knowledge of vehicle construction, estimating systems, and negotiation with repair facilities and customers.

Work is conducted with minimal supervision in a territory spanning Livonia through Ann Arbor, with remote work options and regular in-field assessments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Complete ACG Claim Representative Training Program or demonstrate equivalent knowledge or experience.
• Eligible to acquire a State Adjuster’s license within 90 days of hire and maintain as required.
• Must have a valid State Driver's License.
• Three years of experience in negotiation, evidence evaluation, and subrogation handling.

Responsibilities

• Review assigned claims and contact insured and affected parties.
• Initiate documentation in the claim handling system and perform complex coverage analyses.
• Evaluate the financial value of the loss and approve payments accordingly.
• Refer claims to other units when necessary (Underwriting, Recovery, SIU).
• Thoroughly document and code the claim file and manage claim closure activities.
