Job summary

United Automobile Insurance Company seeks a Field Auto Appraiser to assess auto damages and support timely claims settlements. The role supports remote work within the Tampa/Lakeland, Florida area with field assignments in the Orlando region as needed.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in property or auto damage appraisal, proficiency with Audatex, CCC One, Xactimate, or Mitchell, and a Florida Adjuster license (or ability to obtain). Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in property or auto damage appraisal, preferably in a P&C insurance setting.
• Presentable and reliable vehicle suitable for daily field work (mileage reimbursement provided).
• Florida All-Lines Adjuster License (or ability to obtain within 60 days) preferred.
• Proficient with estimating software such as CCC One, Audatex, Xactimate, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of Texasinsurance and repair laws.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer service skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel within assigned territory.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in claims management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage a high volume of cases with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and appraise damaged property (auto or home), either in-person or virtually, depending on assignment
• Prepare detailed, itemized repair estimates using industry-standard software (e.g., Audatex/Qapter, CCC One, Xactimate, Mitchell)
• Determine repair versus total loss thresholds and recommend next steps
• Review photos, videos, and documentation submitted by claimants, repair shops, or adjusters
• Collaborate with adjusters, repair facilities, and policyholders to verify losses and resolve disputes
• Ensure compliance with all state regulations, company guidelines, and ethical standards
• Maintain accurate records and documentation for claims handling
• Stay up to date on Texasrepair laws, materials pricing, and appraisal practices
