Job summary

Sartorius is seeking a Field Applications Specialist for Chrom/TFF to support downstream processing technologies and enable adoption across the Mid-Atlantic/Southeast from a remote location. You will partner with customers and internal teams to design trials, deliver demonstrations, and provide technical guidance that drives successful implementation.

The role involves training customers, troubleshooting workflow challenges, and collaborating with Sales, Quality, and Product Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in application support, technical support, field applications, laboratory operations, or related customer-facing roles.
• Experience in biologics manufacturing; exposure to cell and gene therapy is an advantage.
• 1+ year of in-depth knowledge of biologics process development and scale-up for monoclonal antibodies; other modalities beneficial.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical and application-related challenges in customer environments.
• Hands-on capability to perform demonstrations, trials, evaluations, and customer training with documented findings.
• Ability to collaborate with Sales, Product Management, Quality, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Strong customer focus with ability to translate needs into practical solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain technical value to diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce, Tableau, and system control software is an advantage.
• Willingness to travel more than 50% for customer-facing activities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Translate process requirements into product and workflow recommendations to accelerate adoption of downstream systems.
• Design, coordinate, and document customer-specific evaluation plans, onboarding activities, and outcomes.
• Troubleshoot inquiries and coordinate corrective actions to protect customer productivity.
• Contribute technical insights during opportunity development and portfolio enhancements.
• Capture feedback and competitive intelligence to support portfolio improvements.
• Train and mentor other Field Application Specialists and sales team on assigned technologies.
• Train customers on new technologies and support start-up activities.
• Support quality investigations and complaint resolution through technical analysis.
• Provide monthly territory activity reports to management.
