Job summary

ABB is seeking a Services Field Application Engineer to support the North Region from a remote location in the US. You will lead technical proposals for power delivery, relay upgrades, and arc flash mitigation, travel up to 50% within OH/MI and nearby regions, and collaborate with sales and operations to win and deliver complex service solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 7 years of experience, or HS diploma with 10+ years.
• Experience in application engineering or field engineering for power delivery products and systems.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications, developing proposals, and managing contract negotiations.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities, skilled in presenting to all levels.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills with a customer-focused mindset in team settings.
• Creative problem solving and ability to leverage ABB portfolio in technical specs and proposals.
• Candidates must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Drive Business Growth: Identify and develop new business opportunities, introduce new products/services, and contribute to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals.
• Deliver Technical Solutions: Develop and present technical solutions aligned with customer needs, influence specifications, and prepare proposal content.
• Lead Project & Proposal Execution: Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals, including site assessments and cost estimates.
• Ensure Operational Alignment: Communicate fulfillment requirements to sourcing/ops, document competitor activities, and support NPI programs.
