Job summary

ABB US seeks a Services Field Application Engineer to support the Regional Commercial team in developing field services proposals for power delivery, power utilization and automation equipment and systems.

You will identify value-added service solutions, develop technical proposals, and lead site assessments while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the West Region (AZ, CO, IA, NE, NV, NM, UT, WY). Travel up to 50% is required, with remote work within the coverage area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Electrical Engineering (preferred) or a high school diploma with 10+ years of experience.
• Experience in power delivery products and systems and customer-facing work in oil & gas, metals, mining, paper, Power Gen, data center, or commercial buildings.
• Experience reviewing customer specifications, developing proposals, and managing contract development and negotiations.
• Strong oral and written communication abilities, skilled in delivering impactful presentations to all organizational levels.
• Interpersonal and leadership skills with a customer-focused mindset; able to work in a team to create integrated solutions.
• Creative problem solver with ability to write technical specifications and proposals leveraging the ABB portfolio.
• Candidates must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

• Drive business growth: identify and develop new opportunities and contribute to regional sales and profitability.
• Deliver technical solutions: develop and present solutions aligned with customer needs and highlight scope and benefits.
• Lead project & proposal execution: provide technical leadership for field service proposals, site assessments, and cost estimates.
• Ensure operational alignment: communicate fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations and support NPI programs.
