Job summary

True North Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Field Application/Sales Engineer (electronics) for a remote role covering Texas and parts of Canada. The position emphasizes delivering embedded computing solutions, advising customers, and supporting regional sales teams across aerospace and defense applications.

You will present roadmaps, gather requirements, and serve as the technical bridge between customers and internal teams, with significant travel and overnight visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in field/application/technical sales engineering or similar customer-facing role.
• Strong technical understanding of hardware/software integration and embedded computing systems.
• Experience gathering customer requirements and translating needs into technical requirements or product recommendations.
• Proven ability to provide technical sales support and collaborate with regional sales managers.
• Experience presenting technical information, product capabilities, and solutions to customers.
• Strong understanding of FPGA/DSP-based embedded hardware.
• Strong understanding of RF and analog technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more, including overnight and multi-day trips.
• Ability to travel regularly, often approximately two weeks per month depending on customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Support regional sales managers by understanding customer requirements and recommending technical solutions.
• Present product portfolio and technology roadmaps to customers.
• Act as the technical bridge between customers, sales and internal teams for pre-sales engagements.
• Provide ongoing technical support throughout the customer relationship.
