Job summary

6 Degrees Search is seeking a Field Application/Sales Engineer (electronics) to work remotely across a Texas + Canada territory. The role requires deep hardware/software integration know-how, FPGA/DSP and RF/analog expertise, and strong customer-facing skills.

Travel is 50%+ with overnight trips, supporting regional sales teams and presenting technical roadmaps. The successful candidate will gather customer requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and drive pre-sales

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering, Technical Sales Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
• Strong technical understanding of hardware/software integration and embedded computing systems.
• Experience gathering customer requirements and translating customer needs into technical requirements or product recommendations.
• Proven ability to provide technical sales support and collaborate with regional sales managers.
• Experience presenting technical information, product capabilities, and solutions to customers.
• Strong understanding of FPGA/DSP-based embedded hardware.
• Strong understanding of RF and analog technologies.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Customer-focused, self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel 50% or more, including overnight and multi-day trips.

Responsibilities

• Support regional sales managers by understanding customer requirements and recommending technical solutions.
• Present products and technology roadmaps to customers.
• Act as the technical bridge between customers, sales, and internal teams in pre-sales engagements.
• Provide technical assistance throughout the customer relationship.
• Travel regularly to customer sites as required.
