Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. This remote/field-based role coordinates with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy.

You will analyze access issues, educate providers, and coordinate with the access hub, while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in patient support, Pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes, including benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeal processes.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment with 20-25% travel; Must reside in the Ohio Valley assigned territory.
• Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders across teams and disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access and support programs in live and virtual formats.
• Analyze access trends.
• Identify and address barriers to patient access and support patient satisfaction.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends to address access barriers.
• Educate field teams on access issues upon approved direction.
• Escalate and coordinate on access issues with hub vendor.
• Educate HCP offices on hub program and patient support resources.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings.
