Job summary

Merck invites applications for a Field Access Manager. This remote/field-based role acts as the subject‑matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations, collaborating with Field Sales, Market Access, and hub teams to ensure timely patient access to therapy.

You will educate providers on access processes, reimbursement, and patient support programs, while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Significant travel (20–25%) and residency in the assigned territory are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• Experience in hub and patient support activities and managing multiple priorities remotely (20-25% travel).
• Must reside in the Ohio Valley assigned territory and be 21+ with a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and/or education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization, in live and virtual formats.
• Analyze access trends and collaborate to address barriers to patient access.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends and provide access information to HCP offices.
• Educate field teams on hub programs, payer coverage issues, and billing considerations.
