Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. You will work remotely with field teams to provide approved education on access and coverage, coordinate with internal and external partners, and support patient access to therapies across designated geographies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required and 7+ years in patient support or reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare/Medicaid/commercial) and access processes.
• Experience with hub and patient support activities.
• Remote work with 20-25% travel; must reside in the New Orleans metro area.

Responsibilities

• Provide information/education to HCP accounts on patient access, including verifications and prior authorizations.
• Analyze access trends and identify barriers to patient access.
• Partner cross-functionally to address access barriers and improve patient satisfaction.
• Build trusted internal relationships to support seamless patient access to therapy and monitor payer trends.
• Provide access information to HCP offices and educate field teams on approved direction.
• Escalate access issues with third parties including hub vendor and coordinate solutions.
• Educate on Specialty Pharmacy issues and hub programs for patients.
• Explain coverage by payer design (Commercial/Medicare/Medicaid) and answer questions.
• Keep up-to-date on regional/national market dynamics and payer policies.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings.
