Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. The role is remote/field-based and collaborates with patient support, market access, and field sales to enable timely therapy access.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare Part B, Medicaid and commercial plans.
• HIPAA compliance experience.
• Willing to travel 20–25% and reside in the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education on patient access, verification, prior authorization and appeals.
• Analyze access trends and barrier to access for HCPs and patients.
• Collaborate across Field Sales, Market Access, and other teams to support therapy access.
• Coordinate with hub/vendor on patient cases and access issues.
• Educate field teams on access processes and payer coverage changes.
• Attend national/regional meetings and maintain up-to-date payer knowledge.
