Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on patient access issues for HCPs and HCOs. The role works remotely and cross-functionally with sales, market access, and patient support to facilitate access to therapy and navigate payer processes.

Responsibilities include delivering education to HCPs, analyzing access trends, and coordinating with the access hub to resolve coverage barriers, while adhering to regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in patient support, Pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial) and related access processes.
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
• 20–25% travel; Must reside in the New England South assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends and payer coverage issues.
• Partner cross-functionally to identify and address barriers to patient access and improve patient satisfaction.
• Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to support seamless patient access to therapy.
• Escalate and coordinate on access issues with third parties including hub vendor.
• Educate HCP offices and field teams on the product hub program and payer coverage.
