Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for healthcare professionals and organizations. This remote/field-based role collaborates with patient support, market access, and field sales to facilitate timely patient access to therapy.

Responsibilities include providing education on access processes, analyzing payer coverage, and coordinating with hub vendors to resolve access barriers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in patient support, healthcare sales/operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).
• Pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations expertise.
• Experience with hub and patient support activities.
• Remote work with 20-25% travel; must reside in assigned territory.

Responsabilités

• Provide information/education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends and barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Field Sales, Market Access, and other teams to address access barriers.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to support patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends and provide access information to HCP offices.
• Educate field teams on access matters; escalate issues with third parties, including hub vendors.
• Support on Specialty Pharmacy issues and payer coverage questions.
• Educate HCP offices on hub programs, patient support offerings, and financial assistance.
• Attend national/regional meetings and stay informed on payer policies.
