Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject‑matter expert on access for HCPs and HCOs. This remote/field‑based role supports patient access to therapy by providing education on access and coverage, benefit verification, and hub coordination across cross‑functional teams.

The position requires deep knowledge of payer policies (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial) and the ability to operate in a remote setting with 20–25% travel. Primary location: USA - Pennsylvania - North Wales.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification and prior authorization processes.
• Analyze access trends and payer coverage strategies.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address barriers to patient access and support patient satisfaction.
• Build trusted relationships with stakeholders to enable seamless patient access to therapy.
• Monitor payer trends and provide education on access issues to field teams.
