Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager (FAM) who serves as the subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. You will work remotely with cross-functional teams to support timely patient access to therapy, providing education on access processes and payer coverage across Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial plans.

Responsibilities include educating providers, influencing access decisions, and coordinating with hub vendors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures and related access processes.
• HIPAA compliance experience.
• Willingness to travel 20-25% and reside in assigned territory.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, appeals, and patient support programs.
• Analyze access trends to identify barriers and opportunities.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to address barriers to patient access and improve satisfaction.
• Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless patient access.
• Monitor payer trends and communicate implications to teams.
• Educate HCP offices on product hub programs and patient support resources.
• Escalate access issues with hub vendors and third parties as needed.
• Attend National and Regional Meetings to stay updated.
