Job summary

Merck is seeking a Field Access Manager to serve as the subject-matter expert on access issues for HCPs and HCOs. The role spans cross-functional collaboration with patient support, market access, and field sales to ensure timely patient access to therapy.

The FAM educates providers on access processes, reimbursement, and patient assistance programs while maintaining HIPAA compliance. The position is remote/field-based with 25% travel within assigned geography and requires strong payer knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 7+ years in patient support, pharmaceutical/healthcare sales or operations, or reimbursement support.
• Strong knowledge of health insurance structures (Medicare Part B, Medicaid, commercial).
• Expertise in pharmaceutical compliance and HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and education to HCP accounts on patient access, including benefit verification, prior authorization, and appeals, in live and virtual formats.
• Analyze access trends and barriers to patient access.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support patient access and satisfaction.
• Educate field teams and HCP offices on hub programs, payer coverage, and access processes.
