Job summary

Carrington Mortgage Services is hiring a Default FHA Claims Analyst I to review FHA Part A mortgage insurance claims from home. You will perform quality checks, correct and submit claims, and document the process while ensuring compliance with policies and laws.

Moderate supervision and strong teamwork are expected. The role requires at least a high school diploma and 1+ year of mortgage servicing default experience or QA/QC exposure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required; some college preferred.
• One (1) or more years’ mortgage servicing default experience, or QA/QC experience in another line of business, or College Graduate.

Responsibilities

• Review FHA Part A claims for accuracy within investor/insurer timeframes.
• Perform quality checks using a scorecard or checklist to identify errors in the claim.
• Communicate correction requests to claim filing team and ensure corrections are completed accurately and timely.
• Document system with appropriate tasking and comments.
• Ensure accurate dates and information are recorded on the Part A claim form.
• Review foreclosure and default timeframe to ensure all extensions are included.
• Enforce curtailment of interest per procedures.
• Include required documentation in the Claim File.
• Finalize and submit claim to agency for payment.
• Escalate trends or issues identified from quality reviews.
• Maintain knowledge of default claims processes for insurers/investors.
• Understand default servicing processes (Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, Loss Mitigation, Claims).
• Understand Agency and investor guidelines.
