Job summary

SMX is seeking a dynamic Project Manager to lead the CFO Control Tower BAS implementation for a federal government client. The role requires navigating federal budgeting and planning processes and overseeing a SAC-based planning and reporting tool.

The position is full-time and 100% remote, with travel<20% and** requires Public Trust clearance. You will coordinate a cross‑functional team and act as the main client liaison to ensure mission objectives are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business Administration/IT/Finance).
• 10+ years as a Project Manager for complex IT or financial systems.
• Proven SAP ERP implementation/upgrade project experience.
• Experience managing projects for U.S. Federal Government agencies.
• Strong PM lifecycle knowledge (PMP, Agile, Hybrid).
• Excellent leadership and communication; able to influence diverse stakeholders.
• US Citizenship and ability to obtain Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead full lifecycle of the CFO BAS implementation project from initiation to closure.
• Serve as primary client liaison to ensure clear communication and alignment of goals.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive project plan with timelines and dependencies.
• Guide SAC platform understanding to inform project direction and deliverables.
• Coordinate cross‑functional team of BAs, data engineers, and solution architects.
• Provide regular status reports on progress, risks and financial health.
