Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a dedicated Family Support Partner to educate guardians and help navigate child welfare, education, and behavioral health systems.

You will support guardians with skill-building and referrals in school, home, and community settings. The role features non-traditional hours (roughly 9 am–5 pm), full benefits, PTO and holidays, mileage reimbursement, and technology support.

Qualifications

• Experience as a primary caregiver of a youth with special needs or involvement in child welfare.
• National certification or in progress as a Parent Support Provider.
• One year of experience with target population OR associate degree plus one year OR high school diploma with five years caregiver experience.
• Valid Driver’s License and meet credentialing/licensing standards.
• Pass drug screening and extensive background check.
• Mobility across Mecklenburg, Stanly, Union, and Cabarrus counties; remote work and occasional office visits.

Responsibilities

• Educate and assist guardians in navigating child-serving systems (child welfare, education, behavioral/mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care).
• Support guardians with gaining skills to complete referrals and locate resources.
• Build relationships with guardians in the school, home, and community settings in Charlotte and surrounding areas.
