Job summary

Thompson seeks a Family Support Partner to educate guardians and help navigate child-serving systems. You will support guardians in locating referrals and building needed skills for success, with 90-minute weekly mentorship across school, home, and community settings in Charlotte.

The role offers non-traditional hours (approx. 9 am–5 pm, weekdays) with remote work options and local mobility across Mecklenburg County and surrounding areas.

Qualifications

• Experience as a primary caregiver of a youth with special needs or history in child welfare.
• National certification or in the process of obtaining national certification as a Parent Support Provider.
• One year of experience with the target population OR an associate degree with one year of experience OR a high school diploma with five years of caregiving experience.
• Valid Driver's License and meet credentialing/licensing standards as applicable.
• Pass drug screening and extensive background check.
• Mobility within Mecklenburg, Stanly, Union and Cabarrus counties; remote work and occasional office visits.

• Support legal guardians in gaining skills to locate referrals.
