Job summary

Thompson Child & Family Focus, Inc. seeks a Youth Support Partner in Charlotte to educate and assist youth in navigating child-serving systems, helping youth articulate needs, goals, and decisions while modeling healthy relationships and stress responses.

The role involves mentoring 14–21 youths for up to 90 minutes weekly in various settings, with a 9 am–5 pm schedule and option for virtual engagement; NC driver’s license and lived youth experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Lived experience as youth who overcame mental health challenges and/or multiple systems involvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide education and navigation support across child-serving systems (child welfare, education, mental health, juvenile justice, school, primary care).
• Mentor 14–21 youths for 90 minutes weekly across school, home and community in Charlotte.
• Work a non-traditional schedule typical 9 am–5 pm, with weekends off and on-call as needed; in-person or virtual.
