Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a qualified professional coder for the Enterprise Revenue Cycle – Integrity Operations: Facility Coding Quality. The role emphasizes accurate professional and hospital coding, audits, and compliance across coding guidelines.

Ideal candidates will have AHIMA/AAPC certifications and 5+ years in expert-level coding, with strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS, and experience with EHR systems and remote collaboration.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• Certification in AHIMA or AAPC preferred (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC) or equivalent.
• 5 years of expert-level professional or hospital-based coding experience.
• Experience with revenue cycle processes and medical record auditing.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements for professional and hospital coding.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance and reference materials for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and verify documentation accuracy.
• Track audit findings and compliance risks, supporting corrective actions.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality improvement initiatives.
