Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a highly skilled Professional and Hospital Coding Quality coder within the Enterprise Revenue Cycle. You will apply advanced ICD, CPT, HCPCS knowledge to ensure accurate coding and compliance across professional and hospital settings.

The role requires 5 years of expert-level coding experience, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and the ability to work remotely from eligible states. Collaboration with leadership and education teams will drive documentation quality improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• 5 years of experience in expert-level professional coding or hospital-based coding and revenue cycle processes.
• AHIMA or AAPC coding credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC) preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS guidelines and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding and regulatory requirements for professional and hospital coding.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance, reference materials, and position statements for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings to drive corrective actions.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare leadership-facing summaries and reports for quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Integrity Operations, coding leadership, clinicians, and education teams to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and quality projects related to coding standards.
