Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled Facility Coding Quality professional to join the Enterprise Revenue Cycle – Integrity Operations team in a remote-capable capacity. The role focuses on professional and hospital coding quality, audits, and documentation accuracy.

You will require 5 years of inpatient hospital coding experience, AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS, CCS-P, CPC) and an associate degree or equivalent. Strong knowledge of ICD/CPT/HCPCS and EHR systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• 5 years of expert-level inpatient hospital coding experience.
• AHIMA or AAPC certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC.
• Strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Experience with audits and documentation improvement.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding requirements to support accurate professional and hospital coding practices.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance, standard work, and reference materials to ensure enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits by routing requests and tracking findings.
• Analyze coding quality data and audit results to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality initiatives.
• Partner with Integrity Operations and clinical teams to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and quality-related projects ensuring adherence to coding standards.
