Job summary

Salas O’Brien, Inc. is seeking an External Worker Specialist to lead governance, classification, and compliance for non-payroll workers across US and international engagements.

This fully remote role reports to HR Operations Manager and focuses on scalable processes, engagement approval, and lifecycle oversight within UKG Pro. You will collaborate with Legal, Finance, Procurement, Talent Acquisition, HR Systems, and IT to maintain accurate records, ensure compliance, and optimize onboarding and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, employment relations, compliance, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Seven or more years of progressive experience in HR operations, contingent or external workforce management, employment compliance, procurement, or related discipline.
• External workforce expertise in evaluating worker classifications and governance programs.
• Experience supporting international external workers or cross-border workforce compliance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and govern a comprehensive external worker governance framework with intake, classification, approval, onboarding, extensions, monitoring, and offboarding.
• Review and approve proposed external worker engagements, assess facts, and recommend engagement models.
• Manage external worker records within UKG Pro and ensure accurate data and lifecycle status.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding with stakeholders to ensure timely access and proper controls.
• Produce dashboards and reporting on external worker population and program risks for decision-making.
