Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly organized Logistics Coordinator to oversee supply chain and delivery operations for large-scale catering projects across South Africa. This remote role lets you manage from anywhere while ensuring timely procurement, transportation, and delivery of supplies to diverse event venues.

You will liaise with suppliers, optimize routes, track inventory, and resolve logistical issues, supporting high-profile events and compliant with food safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in logistics, supply chain or operations coordination, preferably in catering/events.
• Excellent organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficiency with logistics software and standard office apps.
• Strong negotiation and communication with suppliers and internal teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities remotely.
• Familiarity with transport regulations and food handling/storage.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate procurement and delivery of catering supplies, equipment and ingredients.
• Manage vendor relationships for timely and cost-effective delivery.
• Develop and optimize delivery routes and schedules.
• Track inventory and manage stock for events.
• Troubleshoot and resolve logistical issues in the supply chain.
• Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and food safety standards.
• Maintain records of inventory, deliveries and expenditures.
• Collaborate with catering/events teams to understand logistical requirements for each event.
• Utilize logistics software to monitor operations.
• Contribute to process improvements in logistics.
