Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA/AAPC coding certification (CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC) maintained annually.
• 2+ years of experience with ICD-10, CPT, facility charging, and modifiers.
• 2+ years of Emergency Room coding experience.
• Proficient in Windows PC environments and Excel; familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify correct ICD-10, CPT and modifiers for facility services per guidelines.
• Adhere to coding ethics as established by AAPC/AHIMA.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity per department standards.
• Stay updated on ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, NCCI edits, and related policies.
