The ideal candidate will have AHIMA/AAPC certification, 2+ years in ER coding, proficiency with Excel and EMR systems, and strong attention to detail. Telecommuting is allowed from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• AHIMA/AAPC coder certification (e.g., CCA, CCS, RHIA, RHIT, CPC-H/COC, CIC, CCS-P, CPC).
• 2+ years of ICD-10, CPT, facility charging and modifiers.
• 2+ years of Emergency Room coding.
• Intermediate PC skills with Windows, Excel and EMR systems.
• Strong attention to detail and communication.

Responsibilities

• Identify appropriate ICD-10, CPT codes and modifiers for facility services.
• Adhere to official coding guidelines and client-specific guidelines.
• Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
• Understand APC codes and Medicare policies.
• Query physicians when needed.
• Stay updated on coding knowledge via QM Manager and Director guidance.
• Participate in coding department meetings and educational events.
• Additional duties as assigned by manager.
