Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum EHR Services is seeking a Technical Project Manager with hands-on Epic Healthy Planet expertise to lead integration and upgrade initiatives across projects. You will coordinate with leadership, clinicians, and IT teams to deliver robust, compliant solutions on Epic platforms.

The role offers remote work nationwide with required in-office presence for select locations; travel up to 25% may be needed based on project needs.

Qualifications

• Active Epic certification in Healthy Planet and at least one additional application (Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, EpicCare Link or MyChart).
• 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry.
• 4+ years of experience with Epic implementation and/or support.
• 3+ years of direct client-facing experience with healthcare domain knowledge such as clinical documentation workflows, patient portals, encounter closure, and patient flow management.
• Willing/able to travel approximately 25% of the time as business needs dictate.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in Epic Healthy Planet, including system design, build, testing, and implementation.
• Collaborate with leadership and end users to design and configure solutions, including workflow analysis and application configuration.
• Lead multiple small to medium Epic upgrade initiatives and workflow enhancements through all project phases.
• Lead design and validation sessions, with thorough documentation and issue escalation.
• Maintain system documentation, including design specifications and build records.
• Monitor production applications and participate in on-call support as needed.
• Execute testing phases for EpicCare Ambulatory workflows.
• Translate business requirements into functional specifications; manage system updates and release testing.
• Collaborate with training teams to develop application-specific materials.
• Ensure change control and configuration standards are followed.
