Job summary

Optum is seeking a strong Technical Project Manager with hands-on integration experience to lead Epic Healthy Planet projects and complex interface/conversion work. You will manage cross-functional teams, coach others, and drive successful EHR services implementations while supporting on-call duties.

Remote work available nationwide in the U.S.; in Minneapolis or DC area, in-office at least four days weekly.

Qualifications

• Active Epic certification in Healthy Planet and at least one additional application (Ambulatory, Care Everywhere, EpicCare Link or MyChart)
• 5+ years of experience in the healthcare industry
• 4+ years of experience with Epic implementation and/or support
• 3+ years of direct client-facing experience with healthcare workflows such as clinical documentation, patient portals, encounter closure, and patient flow management
• Must be willing/able to travel approximately 25% of the time as business needs dictate

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise in Epic Healthy Planet, including design, build, testing, and implementation
• Collaborate with leadership and end users to design and configure solutions with workflow analysis and application configuration
• Lead multiple Epic upgrade initiatives and workflow enhancements through all project phases
• Lead design and validation sessions with documentation, follow-up, and issue escalation
• Maintain system documentation including design specs and build records
• Monitor production apps and assist in 24/7 on-call support as needed
• Execute unit, system, and integrated testing for EpicCare Ambulatory workflows
• Analyze workflows, data collection, reporting needs, and technical issues for solution development
• Collaborate with training teams to develop training materials
• Translate business requirements into functional specs; manage updates, enhancements, and release testing
• Ensure compliance with organizational standards for configuration and change control
• Build and maintain relationships with end users, stakeholders, and partners
• Facilitate cross-team communication from requirements gathering through implementation
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues with escalation of complex problems
• Maintain deep knowledge of Epic functionality and operational workflows
