Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Director, Environmental FERC, to lead environmental permitting strategies for natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables, and carbon sequestration projects across the United States. You will guide interdisciplinary teams, engage with regulators, and deliver compliant, high-quality solutions while growing ERM’s energy practice.

The role emphasizes client engagement, strategic thinking, and staying ahead of evolving policy developments to support responsible energy

Qualifications

• 8+ years of environmental impact assessment experience on FERC-regulated projects.
• 5+ years managing the permitting of large natural gas and LNG projects.
• Knowledge of NEPA, Clean Water Act, Rivers and Harbors Act, NHPA, Endangered Species Act.
• Experience with federal, state, and local permitting.

Responsibilities

• Manage large and complex projects on time and within budget.
• Lead interdisciplinary teams supporting environmental impact assessments and permitting.
• Develop technical proposals and identify new project opportunities.
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships for repeat business.
• Engage with regulatory agencies including FERC and other agencies.
• Provide expert environmental and project management leadership.
