Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Director, Environmental FERC, to lead environmental permitting and regulatory strategy for major natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, and renewables projects in the United States. Based anywhere in the United States, you will guide multidisciplinary teams, engage with agencies, and drive client-focused solutions that advance energy infrastructure safely and efficiently.

You will shape permitting strategies, oversee complex FERC applications, and help grow ERM’s energy practice

Qualifications

• Experience conducting environmental impact assessments on large projects.
• Strong understanding of federal, state and local permitting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting strategies for complex, multi-site projects.
• Manage interdisciplinary teams and coordinate field and technical activities.
• Engage with regulatory agencies including FERC and others to support approvals.
• Develop technical proposals and support business development with clients.
• Maintain client relationships and identify opportunities for repeat work.
• Ensure quality assurance and adherence to timelines and budgets.
• Provide strategic guidance on regulatory policy and industry trends.
• Deliver high-quality outcomes in fast-paced, geographically diverse settings.
