Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Director, Environmental FERC, to lead environmental permitting strategies for natural gas transmission, LNG, hydrogen, and related energy projects in the United States. You will guide interdisciplinary teams, manage client engagements, and interface with regulators to advance project milestones while expanding ERM’s leadership in energy development and environmental consulting.

The role demands extensive experience in FERC-regulated projects, strong regulatory

Qualifications

• 8+ years of environmental impact assessment and natural resources permitting experience on FERC-regulated projects
• 5+ years managing permitting of large natural gas and LNG projects
• Experience with NEPA, CWA §404, RHA §10, NHPA §106, ESA §7
• Experience with federal, state, and local permitting
• Excellent interpersonal communication and ability to explain complex technical information to staff, clients, regulatory agencies, and project stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Manage large and complex projects, ensure on-time delivery within budget, coordinate field and technical activities
• Lead interdisciplinary teams supporting environmental impact assessments and permitting activities
• Develop technical proposals, identify opportunities, and support business development
• Maintain and strengthen client relationships to support repeat business and partnerships
• Engage with regulatory agencies to address environmental, regulatory, and legislative requirements
