Job summary

ERM is seeking a Consulting Director, Environmental FERC, to lead permitting and development for major U.S. energy projects. You will drive environmental strategy, engage with regulatory agencies, and guide interdisciplinary teams across natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, and renewables.

This role offers nationwide scope and a path to shape regulatory outcomes in a growing practice. You will manage complex projects, deliver high-quality regulatory analyses, and expand ERM’s leadership in

Qualifications

• Eight plus years of environmental impact assessment and permitting on FERC-regulated projects.
• Strong leadership of multidisciplinary teams and client-facing delivery.
• Working knowledge of NEPA, CWA 404, Rivers and Harbors Act 10, NHPA 106, ESA 7.
• Proven ability to develop regulatory permitting strategies and regulatory policy advice.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to travel across large geographic areas.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting strategies for large gas transmission, LNG, hydrogen, and renewables projects.
• Manage interdisciplinary project teams and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Develop technical proposals, identify opportunities, and support business development.
• Maintain long-term client relationships and drive repeat business.
• Represent ERM in industry groups and stay ahead of policy developments.
