Job summary

ERM seeks a Consulting Director, Environmental FERC, to lead permitting strategies for major energy projects across the United States. You will guide cross-functional teams, engage regulators, and drive client-focused solutions while expanding ERM’s leadership in natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables, and carbon sequestration.

The role emphasizes independent work, complex regulatory challenges, and strategic growth in a client-facing capacity within ERM’s energy practice.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Planning, Geography, Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related field; equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead environmental permitting strategies for FERC-regulated projects (natural gas, LNG, hydrogen, renewables).
• Manage interdisciplinary teams and budget across the United States.
• Engage with regulatory agencies and clients to ensure regulatory compliance and project success.
• Develop proposals and business opportunities, fostering long-term client relationships.
